Greetings, from Lenora Braynon Smith Elementary School where “Children Are Our Bussiness.” We are constantly implementing new strategies and modifying existing ones to provide a quality education for our students and to help them achieve academic excellence.

When you visit our school, you will find that teachers and students are working diligently each day. Our primary goal is to have all students functioning on or above grade level in all core academic subjects. We have created a fair and safe learning environment where all children have the opportunity  to reach high academic achievement.

Here at Lenora Braynon Smith Elementary we are committed to the total development of ALL children, by creating a learning environment that supports our children’s physical, cognitive, psychological, language, social and ethical development. When the school becomes a community, when goals and programs are established, when there is determination to make progress and a will to assess that progress, the motivation to improve is higher.

Change does not happen overnight and one person cannot make change happen by themselves. “It Takes a Whole Village to Raise a Child.” Teachers, students, parents, administration, and the community must work together to make a positive impact in our children’s lives.

If we want our children to be successful, all stakeholders must work together. What we teach our children should not be temporary. We should give our children the tools they can use for the rest of their lives to be educated, successful, productive, and satisfied participants at home, school, and in their society. Together, we can empower our students to become critical, creative thinkers, who are destined for global success!
